SCADA System Upgrade
Originally planned due to a relocation of the Central Office, the District realized that it would be more cost effective to upgrade from a tone telemetry system to a state-of-the-art SCADA system.
Detail or Functional Design & Construction Management:
CNC Engineers ("CyberNet Consulting Engineers") provided the functional design specifications, bid assistance and construction management services for the upgrade, effectively integrating the agency's pump stations, reservoirs and pressure reduction stations, totaling 34 facilites. Due to the rugged terrain served by the District, spread spectrum-based mesh architecture was selected as the communications media.
System Components: Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) PLCs, Cellnet (formerly Metricom) 900 MHz license-free spread spectrum radios, and redundant Wonderware InTouch HMI and a multitude of workstation and laptops capabale of remotely accessing the system.
