San Dieguito Water District, CA
San Dieguito Water District serves the City of Encinitas, which is located in San Diego County.
Detail Design:
CNC Engineers ("CyberNet Consulting Engineers") prepared a functional SCADA system design specification for the Water Operations group. Due to budget constraints, it was determined that the cost of the system might be prohibitive. CNC Engineers proposed a solution that reduced the costs to the City of Encinitas for a Phase I installation, whereby the District procured the hardware directly.
Bid Assistance, Software Engineering & Implementation, and Construction Management:
Contracts for physical installation were sent out for competitive bid, and CNC Engineers provided the software programming, installation, and construction management services. In addition to the direct benefit of cost reduction, the plan provided a 4-month installation schedule that brought existing facilities online and provided the ability to expand the coverage of the system as budgets allowed.
System Components: Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) PLCs, Cellnet (formerly Metricom) 900 MHz license-free spread spectrum radios, and Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) redundant RSView HMI.
